I’m happy that my first live interview for The Golden Whistle was with someone I’ve known for many years. Brian Wagner was one of my students at Muskingum University and he is now a well-known television personality and broadcaster in southeastern Ohio with WHIZ Media Group. We spent a few minutes chatting about my book on his popular show “Live At Noon,” and we both thought we could have continued this conversation about success in coaching and in life for quite some time.

A number of readers have posted reviews of my book on Amazon, which I deeply appreciate. I’m always surprised when somebody I don’t even know takes the time to share their reaction to reading my book. If you’d like to add a review, it’s very simple:

How to post a review on Amazon: Go to your Amazon account and then to the page for The Golden Whistle. Under the book title, click on the “Customer Reviews” link. Then you’ll see a button reading “Create your own review.”

Reviews from well-known names are also great. Two of my coaching colleagues recently honored me with nice words.

Coach K (Mike Krzyzewski) wrote, “Your book is terrific which I knew it would be. Your great love and knowledge of the game come together and provide secrets to achieving success in coaching and in life. You’ve done a masterful job at coaching all of us. Well done!”

Coach Calipari tweeted to his 1.2 million followers, “For all coaches out there, this book is a must-read,” and included a photo of the book cover.

You heard it here first: I have another book in the works that I hope will be published later this year.

That’s it on book reports for now. I’ve started the second phase of my Nike summer, the Skills Academies, and I’ll be writing more about that and some other news soon.

Remember, you too can be a Golden Whistle coach and you must work at it every day.
